Google Maps shows a village named Velykyi Hovyliv in Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine and is our best guess at the estate or village Martin was referring to in his bible entry. Velykyi Hovyliv, which translates into English as Big Cattle, is located on the Taina River about 150 km south west of Lviv in western Ukraine. Husiatyn (Husyatyn) is a town located 45 km southwest of Velkyiv Hovyliv. The meaning of the word “Bec” is unknown.
