Biography
Jan Ilnicki was born in Galicia (today western Ukraine) in January 1875. He emigrated to Canada in 1905 and settled in Fort William, Ontario (now Thunder Bay) where he worked as a labourer. In 1907 he married Maria Dazoryc, also from Galicia. Jan and Maria had five children born between 1910 and 1920. They eventually moved with their family to the Niagara region.
