747 Burrows Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba

747 Burrows Avenue was the home of the Martin and Anastazia Bobowsky family from about 1924 until early 1926. Children Olga, Paul, Angela, Bill and Millie lived in this house with their parents. Youngest daughter Alice was born here in May 1924. The family rented two rooms at the back of the house to boarders.

Henderson’s Winnipeg Directories for 1924 and 1925 list Martin Bobowsky (sic) as the resident of 747 Burrows:

The 1921 census records a six room detached wooden house at 747 Burrows. Today 747 Burrows (pictured) is the same house, built in 1907, that the Bobowsky family lived in. Contemporary property records show a single storey, 2 bedroom, 800 square foot house with an unfinished basement. It was built in 1907. The interior was recently renovated.

In 1926 the family moved to Pritchard Avenue.
