Circa 1906 Martin Bobowsky began recording information about his family in a family bible. The bible contained blank pages specifically for recording family events. Martin wrote the early entries in Cyrillic script and over time increasingly wrote in English. In many cases the entries are the only surviving record of Bobowsky and Kondratiuk family information and events. They include the names and birth dates of Martin and his parents, Anastazia’s birth date, their wedding details, the birth dates of Anastazia’s parents and her siblings, the full names and dates of birth of Martin and Anastazia’s children, the dates on which family members died and their burial locations. The last entry was for the death of Martin’s nephew, Eugene Romanowsky in February 1929, around the time Martin and Anastazia separated.
